Director of the Experimental Center Fernando Borrás Rocher.-

I finished my studies in Mathematics at the University of Valencia. I trained as a Professor at the University of Alicante and I am currently a University Professor of Statistics and Operations Research in the Department of Statistics, Mathematics and Computer Science of the “Miguel Hernández” University of Elche and I collaborate with the Ocular Neurobiology group of the Institute of Joint CSIC-UMH Neuroscience research group and with the Decision Support Web Systems group of the University Institute Center for Operations Research.

My teaching activity is carried out teaching the Biostatistics of the Medicine Degree in the Faculty of Medicine and the Tics subject in the education of the teacher’s master. My research has focused on the problem of locating hierarchical public services (hospitals, health centers). Another aspect in which we have deepened has been the location of the mobile emergency services (SAMU), determining where they must be parked to ensure a service that meets certain parameters of equity and efficiency, the result of which I obtained a doctorate in Sciences and Statistical techniques. Other areas such as Efficiency Analysis (DEA) and sampling are fields where we have achieved some interesting results.

Finally, the management of databases on the Internet is the last line that has managed to capture our attention. University management has been another task to which we have devoted effort, occupying the Coordination of the Diploma in Statistics and the Bachelor of Statistical Sciences and Techniques at the Miguel Hernández University during the 97/98 and 98/99 academic years, performing the functions of Deputy Vice-Rector for Academic Planning from academic year 99/00 to 02/03 and performing the duties of Vice-Rector for Students from October 2003 to May 2011.

From June 2011 to 2015 Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation and since 2015 Vice-Rector for Planning.
